🌟 Our Kindergarten Program

At Beyond the Books, your child will be taught by a certified, passionate early childhood educator who knows how to make learning come alive! Our kindergarten program offers both half- and full-day options, available four or five days per week — giving families flexibility while providing students with a strong academic foundation.

Our approach is completely hands-on and multi-sensory, allowing children to explore and truly understand what they’re learning. We use Wilson Fundations for phonics, handwriting, and sight words, and MyMath for fun, interactive math lessons that bring numbers to life.

Beyond academics, we focus deeply on helping children grow socially and emotionally — giving them the tools to communicate, problem-solve, and express their feelings in healthy ways. Each day begins with morning meeting, where students build relationships, share ideas, and learn the value of kindness and teamwork.

Our classroom also includes Montessori-inspired learning, where children spend part of their day exploring and learning through play alongside their teacher. Science is taught through child-centered experiments and discovery-based projects that spark curiosity and wonder.

Every day includes one full hour of recess — half spent in our Pre-K dramatic play centers and half playing outdoors on the field or indoors on the turf with sports equipment. And of course, we can’t forget FUN Fridays! Each Friday is packed with extra STEM activities, creative art projects, and exciting specials like music, cooking, theater, and yoga that rotate monthly.
